Brush Wars on Kingston Road

TAS has partnered with East End Arts and the Toronto Arts Foundation to host Spotlight on Kingston Road, a series of Art-themed events occurring along Kingston Road celebrating art in the East End of Toronto.

TAS and our newest partners East End Arts and The Toronto Arts Foundation hosted the first event in our Spotlight Kingston Road Series this past weekend. Brush Wars was a fun family-friendly competition were would-be artists painted their way to victory!

Teams of 2-4 people gathered in Cobalt Gallery, and each were given an hour and a half to create a painting inspired by Toronto’s East End, with prizes awarded based on “Most East End Love”, “Most Artistic Merit”, “Most Fun” and “Most Team Spirit”. We were amazed at the artwork produced and thank all of those who turned out to compete and to spectate.

Congratulations to the winners:

Most East End Love – Team East Enders with “The East End Grid Park”

Most Artistic Merit – The Mermaid Foxes of Toronto with “Looking Out There”

Most Fun – Team Awesome with “East Awesome”

Most Team Spirit – The Paint Flakes with “Seasons in the Beach”
