TAS Ride for Heart Team – 2013

Early Sunday morning, the TAS team took part in the 26th annual Ride for Heart, which prompts the closure of the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway.

The team started their journey at 8:30am which proved to be an advantage as they missed the heavy rain fall and long line-ups at the beginning of the event. ‘It’s an amazing and open feeling’ says Raymond Li, describing what it was like to ride on the Gardner with no cars, which he shared with 13,000 other cyclist on the course ranging in distance from 25, 50, and 75 kilometers. ‘I must have chatted with a cyclist for 15 minutes,’ mentions team leader, Tyler Diamond, ‘there were all types of people riding, and I saw a person on the biggest unicycle I had ever seen.’ After the ride, the social aspect continued as the team enjoyed a catered lunch with delectable spreads and valet service for their bikes.
