Supporting Art and Entrepreneurship in The Junction

When the owners at DUKE Condos moved into their new homes earlier this year, they were presented with a set of ceramic mugs and a platter as a welcome gift. Each of the nearly 300 pieces was totally unique and made by hand just down the street at Inspirations Studio in The Junction.

Inspirations Studio is a social enterprise by Sistering, a women’s aid organization that provides practical and emotional support to women who are affected by poverty, homelessness, trauma and mental health issues. Studio members are taught by professional potters and have access to equipment, materials and entrepreneurship training so their art can become a source of income.

The DUKE Condos welcome package also included a selection of curated items from around the neighbourhood: chocolate from Delight, a Toronto-made cutting board from Mjolk and fresh ground beans from Hale Coffee Roasters. At TAS, we are committed to building thriving communities for people to live in and that means taking every opportunity we can to work with local businesses and organizations.
